Taster: Wet Felted Landscape Workshop

Watch how I create my felted landscapes using a mix of Merino wool, silk threads and other fibres and then learn how to create your own. Explore colourful merino and silk fibres and learn how to wet felt a landscape in this taster workshop at Barnsdale Gardens.

Build up layers of colourful wool, add a dash of sparkle or rainbow threads and then soak your picture with warm soapy water. Agitate the fibres with my octopus tool, roll to shrink and then full the piece. Squeeze the water out and your picture is felted and ready to display.

These workshops are achievable by all ages and abilities.

Each students work will be completely unique with the colours they choose. The finished piece will be approximately A4 sized.

I will bring most of the materials with me, please bring a small hand towel.

Possible allergies: We will be using 100% wool and fairy liquid soap. If you are allergic to wool then this is not the class for you. If you are allergic to fairy liquid, please bring gloves.

Barnsdale Gardens LE15 8AH When you enter the car park, you’ll drive past the shop on the left and cafe on the right. Keep following the wooden fence around the car park and the studio is accessible through the back gate.
