21st September to 3rd October open 10am to 4pm Monday to Saturday at the Carre Gallery
The Carre Gallery is located at 29 Carre Street NG34 7TR which is in the heart of Sleaford across the street from the National Centre for Craft & Design (the Hub) and around the corner from Money’s Mill both which offer lots of parking.
I can’t wait to show you all the pieces I have been working on over the past year! I think that my art is so much more interesting in person because you can see all of the depth in each piece.
After many exhibitions being cancelled and postponed this year I am very fortunate to have this one on the horizon at the Carre Gallery in Sleaford. I have participated in lots of their open exhibitions over the past couple of years plus volunteered there.
To add some more interest to this upcoming exhibition, I decided to invite my friends: Shalini & Dave Austin and Ella Jenkins. They will each bring with them their new pieces and because all of them are Stamford based, it will be a new audience seeing their work.
I have spent the last 3 months getting ready by framing some new pieces that I made during and before lockdown. Plus getting lots of prints made, cards printed and merchandise ready.
Shalini Austin and I have collaborated a lot of over the years and I look forward to what she will be bringing to this new exhibition. Shalini has been working with copper for many years and she uses it to create beautiful organic jewellery and homewares.
Dave Austin, from Pallet Wood Stuff, has been exploring the Shou Sugi Ban technique of burning wood and then dyeing it various colours. With this technique he has been making coaster, trays, tea lights holders, tables and more. Shalini has been helping him with the dyeing and also has added some of her copper pieces to the wood to create unique trays.
Ella Jenkins Designs and I have been collaborating during lockdown and I’m looking forward to showing you what we have been up to. Ella has an eye for colour, texture and loves to restore vintage pieces of furniture into unique works of art. She will be bringing chairs and stools with her which would look perfect in this gallery setting.
We look forward to welcoming you!
The gallery is covid-secure and masks must be worn while you are browsing plus social distance measures are in place. If you would like to book a time to browse by yourself and those in your bubble please get in touch and we can book you a slot.
