Oxcombe: Wet Felted Seascape Picture

Come along and learn how to wet felt a seascape picture using a mix of merino wool, curls and silk fibres. You will spend the first hour choosing colours and layering up wool and textures to create your background. Then we will stick the fibres together using warm water, soap and agitation. The wet felting process takes about 20 minutes and requires a bit of rolling and rubbing the wool with your hands. Once felted learn how to add stitched pebbles to finish the piece.
This class is great for beginners because in 2 hours you are able to create a finished piece. Please note that this wet felting only, see other felting workshops to learn more!

What will I learn?
- Learn about the fibres and textures that work best for wet felting
- Choose from a variety of colours and learn how to layer the wool to create a strong felt
- Learn how to add details which various textures to create a piece that looks like a meadow
- Learn which tools work well for wet felting and learn how to agitate the fibres with hot soapy water.

Safety
- We will be using wool fibres to felt with and fairy liquid for agitation, if you are skin-sensitive to either of these please bring gloves. If you are allergic to wool, please do not book.
