Goldfinch Original Artwork
Inspired by a wander that I took in February 2023 through the village I live in and out into the fields. It was cold but sunny and I loved watching the light come through the hedgerows. Lots of birds were flying overhead and the goldfinches caught my eye with their bright yellow feathers. I took lots of photos of them and was inspired to create this piece once I had returned home.
This piece has lots of texture that was wet felted into the hedgerow background with tiny details on the bird needle felted in the foreground.
The piece is stitched onto a piece of mountboard that is 50 cm square and is currently framed in a natural oak frame. It will be on display at the Lincolnshire Artists’ Society Spring Show: Reflections open at Doddington Hall and Gardens from 29 March to 14 April.
