Ferns Original Artwork

Description

Ferns Original Artwork features one of my favourite plants. I love photographing them. The unfurling of each leaf fascinates me and I wanted to create a piece that celebrated their beautiful shape. The background is a mix of navy blue and teal merino wool. The ferns have been wet felted using curls and yarn. I needle felted some details on too. The piece is full of texture and interesting spiraling shapes.

I have stitched my felted original (40cm square-ish) on to a piece of acid free mount board that measures 56 x 53 cm. I have signed and dated the piece in pencil and wrapped it in cellophane to protect it.
