Midsummer Original Artwork

Description

Midsummer Original Artwork is a garden that’s just turning from early summer to midsummer. Allium seed heads and tall grasses are in the background of this piece. The foreground has a mix of colours including red crocosmia, pink roses, white daisies and orange marigolds.

I was inspired to make this piece after sitting in my own garden and looking at the shapes of the flowers and seed heads.

This piece is wet felted using merino wool, silk threads, wool curls and silk ribbon. I needle felted the flowers in the foreground.

The piece is 37 x 22 cm and is stitched onto a piece of mountboard that is 55x 33cm.
