Lincoln: Wildlife Pond Felted Picture

Lincoln: Wildlife Pond Felted Picture

This class will focus on how to create your own pre felt pieces that will be cut into lily pads, fish and rock shapes. Learn how to layer colourful merino wool with silk, curls and other textures to create small pieces of felt that you will cut up later in the day.

You chose whether you’d like to make a square background or circle and we will create the background with colourful wool. Trace and cut out your pre felt and add to the background. Learn which textures to add to create water effects.

This workshop focuses mainly on wet felting with an hour of needle felting in the afternoon to add a dragonfly, frog or newt. Feel free to bring photos/magazines for inspiration, I will bring some too.

The piece will be approximately 40 cm  once felted and it can be displayed on a wall or sewn onto a cushion or bag later on.

  • Please bring a small towel and apron
  • We will be using wool fibres and fairy liquid soap, please bring gloves if you are intolerant to either.
  • Tea, coffee and biscuits included but please bring a lunch or buy one from cafe next door.

About Eve Marshall:

I teach the instant gratification of felting. The techniques I teach I have created myself so that they are achievable for anyone who comes to my workshops. I spend countless hours playing with wool and I create something at least 50 times before I teach it to people. I have been felting for over 18 years and love sharing the magic of felting!
