Lincoln: Wet Felted Tiger Portrait Workshop
In this full day workshop you will learn how to layer wool fibres and silks to create a felted portrait of a tiger. In the morning we will begin by choosing colours and laying out the ears and nose pieces. Measuring the spaces between the ears, eyes and chin to create a piece that looks like a tiger face. Learn how to layer merino wool to create depth and realism in the piece.
In the afternoon we will wet felt the piece together and make it into a strong felted fabric. Then learn how to needle felt the eyes and nose and other details onto the face. The completed piece will be approximately 40 cm square.
No felting experience necessary, this class is aimed at beginners. This class has been commissioned by a customer, but I am opening it up so that a few more people can join us.
Please bring a small hand towel and your lunch (or you can buy it locally).
