Barnsdale Gardens: Wet & Needle Felted Bowls
Barnsdale Gardens: Wet & Needle Felted Bowls Tuesday 10 June 10am-1pm
Create a felted bowl using a mix of Merino wool and silks during this half day workshop. We’ll begin by choosing colours and textures. Then laying out our design around a balloon. The wet felting process involves massaging the wool covered balloon and bouncing it until all the fibres have firmed up.
The vessel will be larger enough to hide your chocolate stash in… or put a glass jam jar into it and fill with flowers!
The workshop is 10am-1pm and will be held in the studio at the back of the gardens. This is accessible from the carpark. Garden admission is not needed to come into the studio.
I will bring most of the materials with me, please bring a small hand towel. If you’d like you can bring an apron to protect your clothes from the soapy water, and rubber gloves (for touching hot water) but these are not mandatory.
Possible allergies: We will be using 100% wool and fairy liquid soap. If you are allergic to wool then this is not the class for you. If you are allergic to fairy liquid, please bring gloves.
Please note there are no loos in the studio. The loos are located in a small building in the middle of the carpark, so please bring appropriate clothing if it’s raining or snowing.
