Tree Tunnels Felted Picture Workshop
Where will your path lead? This workshop is designed especially for people who would like to learn about creating more depth in their felt work. Beginners are also welcome to explore felting and creating depth in their artwork.
There will be lots of time to explore the wool colours and textures before we begin. Choosing a bold or muted palette, you will learn how to lay the colours to create the tunnel. Many textures will be available to use including yarns, wool curls, skeleton leaves and silk fibres.
Your piece will be completely unique to you with a large variety of colours to choose from, your piece can be a tunnel further into or out of the woods. It can be night or day time and any season. The finished piece will be approximately 45 cm once felted.
This piece mainly focuses on wet felting but there will be an hour at the end to needle felt a little animal or some branches, leaves or toadstools too.
Please bring an apron and small hand towel. All other materials will be supplied.
The workshop is 10:30am-3:30pm and will be held in the studio at the back of the gardens. This is accessible from the carpark. Garden admission is not needed to come into the studio.
There will be a lunch break from 12:30-1:20 where you may eat in the cafe onsite or bring your own packed lunch.
This workshop is limited to 6 students, which allows for plenty of space between.
