Murmuration III Original Artwork is part of a show at Gallery St Martins, Lincoln this September<\/p>\n
We’ve had some amazing skies at the end of the day here and the stripes of pinks, greys and blues are stunning.<\/p>\n
I’ve taken photos daily and so has all my friends. I wanted to try and capture those colours with this piece.
\nThe felted sky that I created is a mix of pinks, oranges and blues. I added some silk fibres and then lots of white wool. It has given a beautiful backdrop to the murmuration of birds flying across the felted landscape.<\/p>\n
I’ve watched 3 murmurations here in the countryside and each one is a marvel. A massive group of birds flying in unison, waving and screeching through the sky.<\/p>\n
I left the ground simple with a couple skeleton leaves felted into a dark purple and grey land.<\/p>\n
It is 41 x 29 cm and stitched onto a piece of mountboard ready for framing.<\/p>\n
