Description

Wet Felted Art Scarf Workshop 17th December at Barnsdale Gardens Studio 10am to 4pm.

This workshop is to make a large wet felted art shawl filled with colour, textures and holes. We will start by laying out the scarf pattern then stop for lunch. In the afternoon we will wet felt the scarf together. Once felted and taken home you can embellish to your hearts content or leave it 🙂

The workshop is 10-4 and will be held in the studio at the back of the gardens. Lunch will be available to buy at the cafe at 12:30 when we take a break.

£65 will include all materials, instruction and the hire of the studio. If you would like to bring your own merino wool for the scarf (about 200g) I will take £8 off the price of the workshop. For more information, please get in touch with me.

I have limited the class to 3 students to allow for plenty of space in the workshop. We will have windows open to allow for airflow and the heat will be on to keep us warm.  This workshop will not be cancelled due to low attendance, I will make one alone if needs be.
Barnsdale Gardens address is Barnsdale Ave, Exton, Oakham LE15 8AH. There is plenty of parking.
We will meet in the cafe in the morning at 10am for a cuppa before starting our scarves. We’ll then walk over as a group to the studio which is located at the back of the car park.
Lunch will be about 12:30-1:00pm and you can bring a pack lunch or buy something in the cafe.
In the morning we will lay out our scarf design using merino wool and silk fibres and in the afternoon we will wet felt them.
Please wear comfortable clothing and shoes. Wet Felting requires warm soapy water, please bring an apron and a pair of rubber gloves. Everything else will be supplied.
Wet felting is a bit of a work out with rubbing and rolling but usually only takes about 30-45 minutes. I am happy to help with parts of it too.
