Description
Dinosaurs! Giclée Art Print features the type of dinosaur toys I played with as a kid in the 1980s. This was when they were scary lizards and didn’t really have distinction. I think I started learning more of their names after watching The Land Before Time. When I was a preschool teacher in my 20s, I noticed how lots of the children started naming them with very specific names.
This piece is bold and vibrant and I created it to go in an exhibition called Vivid that happened earlier this year. It features a colourful night sky filled with large stars and planets. There is a T-Rex, stegosaurus, velociraptor, pterodactyl and brontosaurus that feature in foreground. They each have a “painted on face” rather than ultra realistic features like my normal art. Each one has their own personality which emerged more as I wet felted it. I especially like the melancholy expression on the brontosaurus in the corner.
This is a print of the original. The paper is 40 cm square and the print shows the raw edges of felt. It has been professionally photographed and then printed on to 310gsm acid free watercolour paper using Epsom ultra-chrome archival inks.
The print will be rolled for postage.
