Barnsdale Gardens Felted Floral Picture 10:30am-4pm

Learn how to create a felted floral picture. This class will focus on how to create your own pre felt to cut into realistic flower shapes and wet felt together with silk, curls and other textures.  This workshop focuses mainly on wet felting with a little bit of needle felting in the afternoon. Feel free to bring photos/magazines for inspiration, I will bring some too.  The piece will be approximately 45 cm square once felted.

New for 2024: Classes will include Faffing with Fluff printed sheets so you can continue working on your artwork at home, plus a instructions for making wet felted pictures. You may also take a small bag of materials plus your needle home with you to continue working. Foam blocks will be available for sale plus bags of wool.

Please bring an apron, rubber gloves (for touching hot water) and small hand towel. All other materials will be supplied.

The workshop is 10:30am-4pm and will be held in the studio at the back of Barnsdale gardens. This is accessible from the carpark. Garden admission is not needed to come into the studio.

There will be a lunch break from 12:30-1:20 where you may eat in the cafe onsite or bring your own packed lunch.

£75 will include instruction and all materials.

This workshop is limited to 6 students, which allows for plenty of space between. This workshop will not be cancelled due to low attendance.

Please note there are no loos in the studio. The loos are located in a small building in the middle of the carpark, so please bring appropriate clothing if it’s raining or snowing.
